Short Description
How similar is the fall of Baghdad beneath the feet of the Americans to the fall of Baghdad beneath the feet of the Tatars!
Introduction
After the story of the Tatars ended in such a way as Allaah the Almighty honored His slaves and humiliated His enemies, we should pause for reflection on the pivotal tragedy of this story, i.e. the tragedy of the fall of Baghdad at the hands of the Tatars.
We did not relate this story just for the sake of writing the history of past events, nor for the purposes of analysis and theorization without action or reflection. We relate the story to take a lesson to learn and benefit. We indeed relate the story to be able to predict the future.
How similar is tonight to last night!
How similar is the fall of Baghdad beneath the feet of the Americans to the fall of Baghdad beneath the feet of the Tatars!
How similar are the Muslims of these days to the Muslims during the days of the Tatars!
How similar are the Muslim rulers these days to the Muslim rulers during the days of the Tatars!
How similar are the Americans to the Tatars!
How similar are the allies of the Americans to the allies of the Tatars!
It is an amazing recurrent image in history!
The Americans, just like the Tatars, appeared suddenly on the theater of events; a nation without history that was established on looting and robbery. The Americans killed tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Indians, in order to establish their own state. They indeed robbed the wealth of others, and established what they call their civilization on the ashes of the original inhabitants of the territory.
Time has passed and they have become the only pole on earth, just as the Tatars had been in the past, and have not accepted the emergence of any power beside them. They have consolidated injustice, and onslaught and oppression on earth, even though they claim, again and again, that they have come only to spread justice, freedom and security among the different peoples.
How similar is the negotiation table of the Americans to that of the Tatars! Treaties void of conscience, charts without security and hollow words to appease people and deceive them for a while. However, there is a hidden intention to repeal those treaties and an intention to strike from the back.
The Americans have entered the countries of the Muslims under pretexts, as feeble as those of the Tatars in the past. They needed neither clear evidence nor decisive proof. They had but illusions and false claims. They have come sometimes to fight terrorism, sometimes to consolidate democracy, sometimes to liberate the peoples and sometimes to search for weapons of mass destruction.
The reason for which they will enter is not important; what is important is that they will inevitably enter.
The Americans fought in the Muslim countries like those of the Tatars; merciless wars which do not discriminate between a military person and a civilian, between a man and a woman, or between a youth, a child or even an elderly person. The Americans have also seized the resources of the Muslims just as the Tatars had previously done, for there is no real difference between petroleum and gold and silver. What is the difference between changing, distorting and falsifying the curricula, and flooding the library of Baghdad?
It is an obliteration of everything that is Islamic, and a barbarous spirit that never accepts civilization.
Exalted be Allaah! It seems as if Allaah the Almighty liked to make the Americans resemble the Tatars in their acts, thereupon caused their steps to sack Baghdad to be like those of the Tatars.
Just as the Tatars had previously centered themselves in Afghanistan first before overthrowing Baghdad, the Americans centered themselves in Afghanistan first through the occupation of the country, and overthrowing the Taliban regime before sacking Baghdad. They also sought to establish bastions for them in Uzbekistan and Pakistan, just as the Tatars had previously done many centuries earlier: {Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.} [Quran 51:53]
Just as the military preparation of the Tatars had been dazzling and powerful, the American military preparation is similarly dazzling and powerful. They spared no funds, weaponry or even thought in their war. They have tremendous fleets, modern weapons, preparations, military exercises, blockades and plans.
Just as the Tatars had previously concluded their alliances, the Americans also did that.
Just as Mongke Khan, the Khagan of the Tatars during the fall of Baghdad, had divided the world into renegade countries and friendly satellite countries, the leader of America, George Bush did the same, under the logic of the master who drives his slaves rather than the ally who makes treaties and holds negotiations with his allies.
Just as the Tatars had previously allied themselves with the Crusaders to fight the Muslims, regardless of their different ideologies, policies, orientations and strategies, the Americans allied themselves with the Jews, regardless of the strong enmity between Judaism and Christianity; and with the Russians, regardless of the black history between both; and sat on the negotiation table with the Chinese, regardless of their mutual suspicion.
Just as the Tatars had previously formed allied forces, and joined to them such weak and small armies as the Armenians and the Georgians, the Americans also did the same, and made alliances with England, Spain and other countries, regardless of their weakness, compared to America, and benefitted from them just as the Tatars had benefitted from Armenia. England, for example, has good experience and a long history in those Muslim countries, and would take control of territories which may be of great risk for the American forces. So, why not send the British forces to them in return for crumbs and allowing them to live along with the Americans?
Just as the Tatars had previously concluded treaties with some Muslim emirs, the Americans did the same, and made alliances with some, if not a lot of Muslim emirs. Just as Badr Ad-Deen Lu’lu’, the leader of the Kurds in the North of Iraq, allied himself with the Tatars; the Kurds in the North of Iraq allied themselves with the Americans. Just as the Seljuk sultans (of Anatolia), Kaykaus II and Kilij Arslan IV, had previously opened the Turkish land field for the Tatarian forces, the Turks in these days of ours have done the same. Just as the Tatarian armies had previously broken into the Muslim territories with no resistance, similarly, the American forces broke into the Muslim territories, not only without any resistance, but also with a great welcome and good reception.
Indeed, how similar tonight is to last night!
Just as the Tatars had previously thought about cooperation with the Shiites of Iraq, the Americans did the same.
Just as the Tatars had previously utilized some hypocrites among the Muslims to wage a media war to disappoint the Muslims and cast terror into their hearts, the Americans did the same, to the extent that even national journals in Islamic countries talked about American military exercises, strong weaponry and great possibilities, and widened the gap between America and the Muslims and made the Muslims too frustrated to show any possible resistance.
As Hulagu had previously entrusted to Mu’ayyid Ad-Deen Al-‘Alqami, the Shiite, reducing the number of the Islamic armies, the Americans did the same with many Muslim countries, by putting restrictions on their armaments, the number of soldiers and military exercises.
Just as Baghdad had previously been besieged by the Tatars, it was besieged by the Americans; and just as it had previously been attacked by the Tatars, it was bombarded by the Americans; and just as its walls had previously collapsed under the shells of the Tatars, they also collapsed under the bombardment of the Americans.
Just as the Tatars had previously requested the delivery of the Mujaahids, the Americans also did the same.
Just as the Tatars had previously requested the destruction of weapons, the Americans also did the same.
Just as Al-Musta‘sim Billaah had previously fled and could not encounter the situation, Saddaam Husayn also did the same.
Just as Al-Musta’sim’s two children had previously been killed before his arrest, the two children of Saddaam were also killed before his arrest.
Just as the Tatars had previously violated security treaties they granted before they entered Baghdad, the Americans also did the same.
Just as the Tatars had previously entered Baghdad to remain there forever, the Americans also entered Iraq to remain there permanently.
What an amazing similarity between history and our present reality!
However, all this resemblance between the Tatars and the Americans does not frighten or terrorize me. Disbelief in all times is the same, and the state of the disbelievers is almost the same throughout time. What really frightens and terrorizes me is the resemblance of the reality of the Muslims in these days to their reality during the days of the Tatars. We are not defeated by virtue of the power of the disbelievers, be they of the Tatars, the Persians, the Romans, the Russians, the Americans, or others; rather, we are defeated by virtue of our own weakness.
During the days of the Tatars, the Muslims lacked all the components of victory, and the result was their inevitable defeat, humiliation and ignominy. Similarly, in our days, the Muslims are running short of the same components of victory, which gave room to the Russian, American, Hindu, Jewish and Serbian revelry in the Muslim territories.
The moral diseases that were widespread throughout the Islamic Ummah during the days of the Tatars which resulted in that collapse are the same moral diseases that are spreading among the people of our Ummah these days.
The Muslims should have a truthful reflective pause with themselves to search for their dangerous diseases. Why do the inhabitants of the earth do what they like with us, although we (Muslims) are more than a billion in number? Why do the people of the East and the West pave no attention to us? Why Has Allaah the Almighty taken away fear of us from the hearts of our enemies, and cast into our hearts weakness and failure?
Let us, my brothers and sisters, recall history and reconsider reality.
